Last week I shared Part 1 of my adventures in Sugar Pine Reservoir, where I visited the area in late September with my husband and mother-in-law. It's a gorgeous area to spend the day wandering around and soaking in the beauty of nature.
I had heard stories from my husband and his family about how beautiful and peaceful the area was, but had yet the chance in any of my travels to visit the space.
This all changed last month. And I think it's safe to say it's now one of my favourite places in California. I want to back!
Let's get to the photographs, shall we?

I had a tonne of fun editing these photos, pulling out the vivid colours from what would have been, in a few cases, underexposed photographs. The photo above in particular was especially dark, given the trunks of the trees were in shadow. With some Lightroom magic, I was able to not only lighten the area and pull out the colours, but turn the entire photo into one of the best in the set. I love these types of photographs, and it's nice to be able to take them myself and have them turn out.
Speaking of which, have you seen my recent post on editing landscape photography? I feature a number of photos from this trip, and go into detail about my process. There's also a peek of the before-and-after the editing process. Feel free to go check it out! (I'll wait here. )

I took a number of photos of the lake and skies: far too many to post! (And some repetitive, so there's no need.)
I was also told that there are bears, bobcats, and deer at Sugar Pine Reservoir. I was hoping to see deer, but am glad we didn't run into any bear or bob cats. We did see a goose, but it was elusive and hid from my camera.

Haven't had enough yet? Remember, I have a deviantART gallery, too. I have posted over 30 photographs there from this trip. I would love if you were to go check them out and let me know what you think.
The Landscape Photography section of my portfolio has also been updates with select photos form the trip.
